We have been providing Santa Barbara County departments with architectural
services since 1872. Our vision is to provide sound county facility
planning, design and construction.
Facility Strategy: How, when and where
to construct new facilities...this task is a key component to successful
facility planning. Included in this effort is long-term facility
planning, financial strategies and timing issues.
Architectural Design: Whether designed
by our in-house architect's or by consulting architect's; appropriate
design is important to us. We focus on buildings that are sustainable.
Often having to balance our project budgets to accommodate sustainable
design. We are attempting to implement LEEDs criteria into our
design process.
Historic Preservation: We are responsible
for some 400 individual buildings, some of these buildings are
historically significant and at least one is a register national
historic place. Preserving our heritage is important to us, we
are just passing through and must be careful to preserve our history
for future generations to enjoy.
Drawings Achieves: We have a drawings collection
of approximately 3,000 individual architectural or engineering
drawings. In addition, there are several hundred books, project
specifications, photographs and artifacts. We are currently cataloging
each item in the achieve, soon you will be able to search an online
index of materials for research and educational purposes. If you
are interested, please feel free to contact us to schedule a visit
to the achieve.
Construction Management: We oversee the
entire construction process for the County Board of Supervisor's
on county facility projects. We facilitate the public bidding,
permitting and construction process for buildings that range in
size from just a few hundred square feet to thousands of square
feet.
